The Beechcraft Denali is a single-engine turboprop under development by Textron Aviation, and as of 2026 it has not yet received FAA type certification and is not available for charter in Dallas or anywhere else. Textron Aviation designed the Denali around the GE Aviation Catalyst engine, a new-development single turboprop targeting 1,600 nautical miles of range and 285-knot cruise speed. Cabin seating is projected at six to nine passengers in a pressurized cabin with a flat floor and a large cargo door. Certification had not been completed as of mid-2026. Why the Beechcraft Denali Fits Dallas
Once certified and available for charter, the Denali’s projected 1,600-nautical-mile range would comfortably cover the West Texas energy routes that currently see high King Air demand out of the Metroplex. Dallas to Midland-Odessa at roughly 300 nautical miles, Dallas to Laredo at around 380, and Dallas to Amarillo at approximately 365 are all within the published target range with a realistic payload.
The cargo door in the design specification is the capability that would make the Denali directly comparable to the PC-12 on mixed passenger-and-cargo trips. DFW-based clients who move equipment to remote sites alongside staff would have a modern single-turboprop option if the aircraft enters service with the door in its current configuration.
The Catalyst engine is the centerpiece of Textron’s development case: a new powerplant with FADEC and a projected 20-percent fuel efficiency improvement over comparable PT6 installations. If those figures hold through certification, the Denali’s operating economics on Dallas-area turboprop routes would be meaningfully different from the King Air series it is intended to complement.
