Long Range Jets

Long range jets make Dallas a direct departure point for Europe, the Middle East, and parts of Asia. Eleven to nineteen seats, 5,200 to 7,000 nautical miles, and cruise speeds around Mach 0.80 to 0.85. The energy companies and financial institutions headquartered in the Metroplex are the natural market for this category.

Typical Aircraft

The Gulfstream G650 reaches furthest at 7,000 nautical miles and cruises fastest at 488 knots. The G550 offers nearly the same range with a much deeper charter fleet. The G500 brings the newest cabin. Bombardier’s Global Express, 5000, 5500, and 6000 cover the same ground at Mach 0.85. The three-engine Dassault Falcon 7X and 8X add short-field capability no other aircraft in the category has.

When Long Range Jets Fit the Dallas Trip

Dallas to London, Frankfurt, the Gulf states, Tokyo, Hong Kong, and Singapore. Whether any specific pairing works nonstop depends on payload, winds, and the operator’s routing plan. We have the operator run the actual date rather than quote a maximum from a performance table.

Vetting Behind Every Trip

Every operator, aircraft, and crew goes through our internal due diligence before we present any options. Our internal standards meet or exceed what the FAA requires:

  • FAR Part 135 charter operators for traditional private aircraft, or FAR Part 121 for airliner-size and group trips (or the foreign equivalent on international legs)
  • Operator subscription to Wyvern and ARGUS reviewed where the operator participates; reports may be provided on request.
  • Pilot experience and operator incident history reviewed before we recommend an aircraft.
  • Fewer than 60 brokers worldwide hold Premium Wyvern Broker Member status, and Air Charter Advisors is one of them.

Dallas-Specific Patterns We Plan Around

Spring is the scheduling variable that drives most Dallas charter discussions. The DFW area averages 46.5 thunderstorm days per year, with May and June the most active months. Morning departures offer the clearest window; afternoon convective build-up from late April through September is what we plan around. Winter weather is infrequent but operationally significant when it arrives. A planned December or January departure should include a contingency discussion as a standard part of the booking. Summer heat adds a density altitude factor for full-payload departures. Your operator calculates performance numbers for every departure before the trip is confirmed.

Long-range departures from Dallas almost always use KDFW, where 13,000-plus-foot runways support a full international payload. The DFW Corporate Aviation FBO has different logistics from Addison Airport or Love Field, and lead time matters more in this category than any other. An energy sector group booking a Gulfstream for a European departure should have the aircraft confirmed before finalizing the meeting date.
