Super Midsize Jets

Super midsize jets put the East Coast and parts of the Caribbean in reach from Dallas without a fuel stop. Eight to ten seats, 3,075 to 3,460 nautical miles, wide flat-floor cabins, and the range to handle a transcontinental return against a winter headwind.

Typical Aircraft

The Bombardier Challenger 300 defined the category and has the deepest charter fleet. The Cessna Citation X is the fastest civil aircraft on this site at 525 knots. The Citation Sovereign trades some speed for short-field performance no rival matches. The Gulfstream G200, Dassault Falcon 50, Hawker 1000, and Hawker 4000 complete the lineup.

When Super Midsize Jets Fit the Dallas Trip

Dallas to New York, Miami, and the Caribbean nonstop with a working payload. The Citation X makes the Dallas-to-New York corridor in under three hours eastbound, which is why corporate accounts at Legacy West and Las Colinas book it when the meeting cannot be a red-eye return.

Vetting Behind Every Trip

Every operator, aircraft, and crew goes through our internal due diligence before we present any options. Our internal standards meet or exceed what the FAA requires:

  • FAR Part 135 charter operators for traditional private aircraft, or FAR Part 121 for airliner-size and group trips (or the foreign equivalent on international legs)
  • Operator subscription to Wyvern and ARGUS reviewed where the operator participates; reports may be provided on request.
  • Pilot experience and operator incident history reviewed before we recommend an aircraft.
  • Fewer than 60 brokers worldwide hold Premium Wyvern Broker Member status, and Air Charter Advisors is one of them.

Dallas-Specific Patterns We Plan Around

Spring is the scheduling variable that drives most Dallas charter discussions. The DFW area averages 46.5 thunderstorm days per year, with May and June the most active months. Morning departures offer the clearest window; afternoon convective build-up from late April through September is what we plan around. Winter weather is infrequent but operationally significant when it arrives. A planned December or January departure should include a contingency discussion as a standard part of the booking. Summer heat adds a density altitude factor for full-payload departures. Your operator calculates performance numbers for every departure before the trip is confirmed.

Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (KDFW) handles the heavier super-midsize jets when maximum range at full payload requires the longer runway. KDFW Corporate Aviation is the sole FBO there, and the logistics are different from an Addison Airport or Love Field departure. We confirm field choice when we present the first quote.
